Zephen Specht is originally from Joliet, Illinois and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from Northern Illinois University. While there he worked as a teacher's assistant for various undergraduate labs; such as the organic, inorganic, physical and general chemistry courses.He also volunteered for the chemistry club's chemistry demo night, where he helped to stage various chemical reactions during the show. After working in industry for a brief period he returned to graduate school to pursue a PhD in chemistry and continue teaching various chemistry labs as well as tutoring. Zephen is a Joint Doctoral student at SDSU/UCSD.
