Shawn Yost graduated with a B.S. degree in Bioinformatics from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2008. He is currently working on obtaining his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from UCSD and is part of Kelly Frazer's lab.
He has participated in various teaching programs such as California TEACH and Modified Supplemental Instructions. His research interests are in using Genomic data to find expressed biomarkers and therapeutic targets for diseases, such as cancer. His is currently analyzing Transcriptome data (RNA-Seq) of Chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients. He has various training in both computational and experimental methods. Outside of his work he likes to run, play soccer and games with friends, read, watch tv, and relax.
