Research: Ubiquitin/E2 variant protein
Gloriana Gallegos Trujillo is a PhD candidate in Dr. Yishi Jin’s lab where she studies components of a signaling cascade important for synapse formation in C. elegans. Gloriana Gallegos was born and raised in northern New Mexico and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Dartmouth College. Gloriana is a recipient of the Eugene Cota-Robles Fellowship and has presented her research at C. elegans and neurodevelopment topic meetings.
When Gloriana is not in lab, she enjoys bringing science into the community by her involvement in outreach programs such as the Salk Mobile Science Lab. Gloriana is a yoga practitioner who also finds time to hear live music and go outdoors to hike, bike, or swim. Through her participation in the Socrates program, Gloriana hopes to improve her science communication skills in preparation for future endeavors in science education.
