Programs Socrates Fellows Join Fellow Dates & Responsibilities

Socrates Graduate Fellow Responsibilities

Each PhD Fellow will partner with a high school teacher to develop compelling, inquiry-based science labs, activities, and lessons that support the teacher’s science curriculum and reflect current research efforts. In the summer, Socrates PhD Fellows and Teachers Partners mentor one another in a five-week summer institute focused on pedagogical techniques, lab/lesson design, and teaching strategies. During the academic year, fellows spend a maximum of 10 hrs/week co-teaching in classrooms and an additional 2-5 hrs/week in on-campus enrichment activities, including pedagogy training, curriculum development, and career development.
